Oh Canada

Ocanadian-flagn July 1st Canadians will be celebrating this country’s 143rd birthday! We are grateful to live in such a beautiful country. We love the peaceful multicultural make up of Canada – this is what makes Canada so very special.

This Thursday, celebrate Canada Day with a Canadian flag in your front window (or on your car roof).  Wear something red and white, have some friends over and check out some of the events in North York Toronto.

Mel Lastman Square is always exciting  on Canada Day with food, music and amazing fireworks!

Downsview Park will be celebrating all day with amusement rides, acrobat performances, face painting and fireworks!

North York Summers are the Best!

Thursday Farmers Markets and Friday Night Concerts are Back!

From now through October 28th, enjoy the fun of the outdoor farmers market and fresh local produce every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mel Lastman Square (in front of the city offices and TDSB offices, across from Empress Walk on Yonge Street).

Look for organic fruits and vegetables, honey and unbelievable breads and sauces! Don’t let summer go by without dropping by a few times.

Cultura

Beginning Friday, June 25th and then every Friday until August 6th, there will be a weekly cultural festival including street food, live performances, artists and a family-oriented movie at Mel Lastman Square.

The performances and movies are free.  Funds raised from food sales will go to a different local charity each week.  These evenings have been sponsored by Duca Financial Services.
