Buy First or Sell First?

One of the most popular discussions with home owners who are considering a move.   On one hand, many home owners fear that if they buy first they may get stuck carrying two properties and/or be forced to sell at a lower than expected price. On the other hand, if they sell first they may discover that they cannot find or afford the home of their dreams and possibly be foreced to ’settle for less’ in a hurry to have a home.

We understand that every situation is different yet there are some simple questions you can look into that may help you determine what is best for you.

1. What are you selling? Is your home unique in design or price? If so you may be more comfortable selling your home first knowing that due to it’s uniqueness it may not sell right away.

2. What are you buying? Are you looking for something very particular in a very specific neighbourhood? If so then you may want to consider finding your home before selling your current home.
