Oh Canada

Ocanadian-flagn July 1st Canadians will be celebrating this country’s 143rd birthday! We are grateful to live in such a beautiful country. We love the peaceful multicultural make up of Canada – this is what makes Canada so very special.

This Thursday, celebrate Canada Day with a Canadian flag in your front window (or on your car roof).  Wear something red and white, have some friends over and check out some of the events in North York Toronto.

Mel Lastman Square is always exciting  on Canada Day with food, music and amazing fireworks!

Downsview Park will be celebrating all day with amusement rides, acrobat performances, face painting and fireworks!

NOTE: For those of you in the Yonge/Sheppard/Finch area, be sure to check your mailboxes for our most recent Newsletter; you’ll find a bright Canadian Flag on one side. Perfect for placing in your front window!

Tell us what you like most about living in Canada!

Moving Day Etiquette

Moving DayWhat actually happens on moving day? Why do so many people dread the actual day of moving? North York Enviroment Day April 3, 2010

Toronto Community Environment DaySaturday April 3, 2010

10:00am – 2:00pm

I just love it when things happen to make our lives easier! This is definitely one of those timely conveniences!

Its Garbage and Recycle Day!

Drop by the parking lot at Early Haig School at 100 Princess Avenue in the Yonge/Sheppard area and bring your garbage!

This is the perfect time to clean out the garage and rid your home of all of the stuff you don’t really need anymore yet can never seem to figure out how to get rid of.

There will also be an opportunity to donate gently used clothing, toys, books and more.

Bring your wheel barrel to get some of your free compost.  You will also be able to purchase all sorts of environmentally friendly products and tools.

This is just one of many events scheduled through North York and Toronto through April and May.   Find more information about this and other events here.

If you have any community or neighbourhood event you would like to share with our readers sent us a note, give us a call or leave a comment here
